Zora
I got M & M wheels a couple years ago or so. What color are the wheels that had the bad bearings? I am getting a funny thumpy thing lately that I can't really explain. Then I found out that some of the wheels had bad bearings. Does APQS just replace these wheels if I call them? I bought them from the local dealer who is no longer a rep, I guess. Haven't seen her or heard from her in a year or so.
LisaC
Yellow, however not all yellow ones had bad bearings. They did replace mine free of charge, you need to call APQS.
Zora
How would you know if your bearings were bad? I do have the yellow ones.
ffq-lar
I received bad M&Ms when I upgraded to Bliss. You'll absolutely know if your wheels are failing. Over a short period of time, the machine will become sluggish and then be very hard to push. They were quickly replaced by APQS.
LindaSteller
Ya, I had the bad ones too. I really thought I had lost my touch. It was like trying to drive a Mack truck. Back to gliding along smoothly now!
Zora
Thanks, ladies. Not sure if that is my problem, then. I will keep watch on it over the coming months. It "may" be harder to push...it is certainly harder than when I installed the wheels originally, but not as bad as you describe.
ffq-lar
If they are like mine, the sluggishness was progressive and subtle until it needed serious muscle to overcome.
LindaSteller
Yep - keep an eye on it Lynn. As Linda said it took time to reach full effect. I think the problem with the defective wheels is, there is no lubrication in the bearings that make the wheels move so well. Once they've had lots of use, they begin to bind up a bit, and it becomes harder and harder to move the machine.
Wendy-ON
We put the replacement wheels on last night only to discover one of the new wheels was defective, I am hopeful a replacement will be sent soon. We put one of the old ones back on so I can still quilt and wow what a difference, I almost need to practice again my machine floats again as it should. The change was so gradual I guess I had gotten used to muscling through my jobs!
Joy
I replaced my wheels about 3 months ago and these were the replaced ones and now it is very hard to push with bliss could these be faulty again ???
ffq-lar
The wheels with the bad bearings have a thin yellow center next to the wheel. If the wheels worked well and then slowly became hard to push, it's probably the wheels.
