alcote
Need some advice on quilting a Batik quilt. What size needle should I use when quilting a quilt made with entirely batiks, top and backing?
Quilting Heidi
I use a 4.0 and don't seem to have any problems.
Bonnie
Yep me to, I never change my needle size no matter what thread I'm running....it all works, and when the quilt is washed the holes close tight.
matildanme
I just finished a quilt with an unwashed batik back. I used a 4.0 needle and signature thread top and bottom and it turned out very nicely..... I was concerned that the bobbin thread would sit on the top of the batik (on the back) but was not the case at all. I was pleasantly surprised. smorris
I'd stick with a 4 or go up slightly to a 4.5 - the needle can tend to deflect more with batiks so its best to stay within this range with the recommended Singer needles.
