barney
I am looking at purchasing a Gammill Bobbin Winder. Does any one know if we need an "m" or "L" I can find anything in the manual that says which type of bobbin case the APQS uses. I have a Discovery. barbm
Barney, APQS uses the "L" size bobbin.
barney
Has any one out there purchased the Gammill bobbin winder? Are you happy with it. Right now I a filing the bobbins with a side winder. I am struggling with the bobbins and I wonder if the thread is not filling evenly or tight enought. I use the same thread in the top and bottom. I have had my machine since Late Nov and I am new at the process
Sandra Darlington
Have you considered buying the bobbin winder that APQS sells? I have it and I love it.
Quilting Heidi
The way I remember whether it is an L or M bobbin is less and more. We have the smart bobbin which has less. Just me I have to come up with things that make me remember it. I used to get so confused and had to look it up every time. Now I always remember. I agree with Sandra I couldn't do without my turbo winder!
Brenni
The Gammill winder works fine. I got the sidewinder with the Lenni and it is a piece of junk. Someone on the forum recommended the Gammill and it has worked just fine for me. I now get full, tight bobbins. Some folks use their DSM instead of the sidewinder. The Gammill winder did not come with directions but those you can find online.

Mary Beth
The main difference, for me, from the Gammill winder compared to the APQS winder is the price. The APQS winder is sky high....I just don't want to spend that much money for "turbo" speed bobbin winding. If the Gammill winder works well at $80, compared to the APQS winder at $325, guess which one I am going with??
