Pennyquilts
I had a small piece of thread get caught behind the bobbin spring. The shinny blue plate inside the bobbin case. I popped out the spring removed the thread and now I am worried I didn't get the spring back into the bobbin case right. Is it as simple as popping it back in or is there something else I need to do? Thank you Penny
Quilting Heidi
Penny, Yes it is as simple as popping it back in. There are little notches that fit into the bobbin case. You should be able to see those click into place. I use a small screw driver to get it seated back into place.
dancing bear
if i remember correctly, dawn shows this in the maintenance video. and it's easy peasy. it goes back in and i believe the little pointy thingies are sticking outwards . in other words, they don't lie flat against the bobbin case wall. boy, clear as dirty dancing shoes, no? anyway, dawn just popped it out and then popped it back in, making sure pointy thing was sticking outwards. Pennyquilts
Thank you so much. I figured it was that simple, but wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to mess up something. Thanks again Sylvia and Heidi. Penny
Hollyrw
The tabs on the spring fit into little slots on the bobbin case. They will only fit one way. If you have the spring in upside down, the tabs and slots won't line up. So, if it snaps into place, you must have it right.
quiltmonkey
I use a flat head screwdriver to help "pop" the notches back into place.
Bonnie
And should you happen to snap it...not to worry you can get another one from the company. You don't have to buy a whole new bobbin case, just the spring.
