CJQ
In my webshots there is a new folder and the first two pics are of a quilt I'm getting ready to start. My customer called it a half log cabin. I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas? Thanks!
anniemueller
Here's the photo to make it easier to find. I'm thinking an allover design works. Does the customer have any requests? Special interests? Pets?
CJQ
Thanks for putting the picture up, Annie. I have finally figured out how to get them from my webshots to the forum. An allover would be fine. I would probably do something different in the borders. I'm just having the hardest time with this one.
witha'K'quilting
I think that baptist fans would look great on this one as an allover. Or allover feathers...or a feathery design in the light areas...and straight line design in the dark like crosshatching maybe.
anniemueller
Ooh, I've been looking for a good application for the baptist fans. I have a log cabin coming up soon, I'll keep that in mind.
CJQ
Baptist fan would be great but I did that on the last quilt for this customer. It was also done in homespun like these. In fact I have a picture of it in the Circle Lord challenge forum. I was thinking of an allover freehand feather with some echoing in the center. Then a wavy/swirl for the inside border, SID in the piano keys and feathers in the outside border. Why is it that some quilts take so long to speak to me!?! Tracey
I love my baptist fan templates from circle lord. I made a scrappy king size quilt for my hubby for Christmas and that's what I used to quilt it. It looks really good. Tracey
Quilting Heidi
This would be perfect for the baptist. If your customer wants custom then I would do some kind of design in the off white area, whether it be a feathered wreat, stencil motif or someting. Then just do SID in the dark areas to make those pop. Do piano keys in the colored border and something for elaborate in the dark red border. Butterfly
If you do custom, I'm with Heidi. Do something special, like feathers or a motif, in the light areas. Those areas will show the most. Jessica
