Toni123
I really don't want to do a custom on a small quilt. Everything I see is custom on this type of pattern. Isn't there one that will look custom and yet keep me from have to do feathers in the set-in blocks? I am not proficient that them yet. Also, I am picture challenged so I am hoping you all have very vivid imaginations.
LinneaMarie
:P:P:P Oh yeah, we do have very vivid imaginations! At least I do! Can you give us a link to see this on the web? You could do radiating lines out from the points of the star and maybe dress up every other space with squiggles or circles.
witha'K'quilting
I do not believe that feathers are a MUST on a lonestar quilt. No quilt police that I know of. You can do a template of some-sort in the set-in blocks or maybe just use a block-panto in those areas for a different design! You could also crosshatch those set-in blocks! That would be pretty. witha'K'quilting
Here is a link to Patricia's designs at Urbanelementz for block pantographs. Maybe this wil get some ideas flowing! http://www.urbanelementz.com/shop/category/blocks/?showall=
ffq-lar
Use your favorite overall design on the plain blocks and triangles. Feathers aren't the be-all end-all of Lone Stars. Do what you want and do what you are good at. Same goes for DWRs--these classic patterns do have a "usual" quilting recipe. Spice it up your own way! witha'K'quilting
Linda...Toni emailed me and is looking for an all-over quilting pattern to not have to do any block work. I guess I miss understood the original posting. Sorry Toni. I don't have any ideas for an allover pantograph for a lonestar quilt. I will keep thinking though! quiltmonkey
Tony no advice from me, except I will say that if you have a pretty curly or swirly pantograph design that you like I am sure it will look lovely e2e. Just use a thread that sinks into the fabrics and just shows relief design from the thread. It will look nice, I just know it!
