Lynne in Iowa
Why does my spiro sometimes slip in the middle of a design. I probably don't have something tight, but I can't figure out what. I doesn't happen often, but is annoying when it does.

yankiequilter
Lynn are you using the QZ or the CL? Slipping is next to impossible with the CL Spiro Thingy because you have the templates mounted on the center post and the post on the stepping disk. Quilting Heidi
Lynne, when you say it slips, is it the gear or is it the unit? You might have a bad gear if it is the gear itself. Email Linda & Adam and they'll let you know.

Lynne in Iowa
It feels like it is the unit. But sometimes I had to set the spiro up more than once to get the right design.

Quilting Heidi
Lynne, If you have the gear in place and the handle is locked in it shouldn't ever slip. Maybe one of the teeth on the gear is bad. Does the design stitch right or are you saying that it isn't stitching the right design? Are you absolutely sure you have the gear in completely so it is completely engaged? Does it do it with all gears or one particular gear? Email Adam he'll probably have you check a few other things. Lynne in Iowa
Adam just called me (how's that for customer service!). We think the bolts on the arm might be the wrong length so it doesn't tighten right. He is sending a new one to try. Thanks Adam.

RitaR
I'm just curious if you have the tool tray over by the QZ unit to keep the bars apart enough to get the latch to snugly hold the unit on the frame. I'm sure by now you have thought to check the latch on the base unit and the knobs on the arm.. Quick Easy solution to you. RitaR
