Golden Threads tracing paper

Has anyone used Golden Threads tracing paper to trace a border pattern and then quilt over it with the LA? If so, do you pin it in place or use another method of securing it to the quilt? Is it better to use another method altogether? I'd appreciate some insight on this. My customer wants a specific border and I have never quilted it before--I just don't want to have to pick it out or have it look terrible.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Anette

you can use your dsm & sew along the pattern and make needle holes in the golden threads paper and then pounce over it onto your quilt top. this is what i prefer to do since i cant ever seem to get those tiny pieces of paper out from under my stitches..

I do it all the time. I cut it the right size and stitch the design on it like Meg said above. Then I tape it with clean plastic wrapping tape onto the quilt. I quilt out the pattern and then pull it off. It comes off great (even if you quilt over the tape). Now, if you make ittybitty stitches on top of it, good luck getting it off!:D
