jimerickson
I have an Ult2, and the machine head is not plumb with the table (it's not perfectly perpendicular to the table top-leans to the right) Is there an adjustment to bring the head plumb? Don't see anything in the owners manual on such an adjustment. The 4 wheels properly contact the carriage so that's not a problem. Any help is appreciated, Thanks. Dave-Jane
Hi Jim, I don't know much about the ultimate2 but I would think there has to be something in the wheel mounting to adjust, more or less washers? The Millie has to have all mounting spacers/washers the same or it won't sit plumb. Just an idea, Take Care--Dave B.
jimerickson
Thanks Dave and Jane. The Ult2 has vertical wheels not horizontal like the Ult1 or Milli, so adding washers doesn't change the plumb only the wheel position in the track. Regards. Dave-Jane
Just pulled a photo up on one, If the wheels are o.k., is there any way to adjust the track on the carriage. I'm fling blind here so good luck! How far off is it?--Just curious. Thanx--Dave
witha'K'quilting
Just a thought...how about a shim on the side that is leaning. Add it under the wheels mounting bracket. If that bracket is a rod like I am thinking...then shim under that. Hope this helps.
jimerickson
Thanks for the suggestions. The problem is with the machine, not the "trolley". Shimming the wheels doesn't seem possible. It appears that the wheel axle goes completely through the machine. When I turn it on one side it also turns on the other. The machine only leans about 1/2" out of vertical top to bottom, but I can't believe APQS made it that way, and that there isn't an adjustment to correct it. Gammills have an acentric on the axle of both front wheels to make such an adjustment. Jim
mark
Hi Jim, Your U-II has rubber grommetts or washers that the axles go through right at the side of the machine, if those washers are wearing out, you will have quite a bit of wobble or your axles won't sit horizontal. If you grab your machine front handles and rock it there shouldn't be much movement at all; watch down by the axles and see if there is a lot of movement at those rubber washers, if so then they can be replaced pretty easily! Hope that helps!
jimerickson
Thanks Mark. That must be my problem. How do I get a replacement set of grommets? I don't see a listing on APQS's web site parts catalog for them. Also what would the cost be? Thanks a bunch. Regards. Jim
quiltmonkey
Jim, I would contact Mark Caraher at the APQS sales phone number listed directly above and he will get your parts shipped to you.
