boppinbrandy
I cant seem to think of what to do in the purple and green. I think they need to be their own element. She wants a feather wreath in the teal and swirls in the light background. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Mary Beth
you could do a little line dancing thing or a line dancing/feathery thing in each one.
lindasewsit
I can see some CC's in all the other colors....YOu can really get some neat designs going with those!
Quilting Heidi
Brandy I think I would have a hard time with that too. The purple seems to over-take the block design. I would probably cc the green block and maybe 1/2 curve cross hatch in the purple. Does that make sense? I guess kind of arched lines in the purple going out to the background. boppinbrandy
I don't understand the 1/2 curved cross hatched. Like going from one corner to the other with a curve?
Quilting Heidi
Brandy I couldn't make the 1/2 cross hatch look right drawing it so I'd probably not end up doing that. You could do a Rhonda curved cross hatch design forming a v, echo and then fill with cross hatch and that would look good but not sure you want to go to all that trouble. I ended up drawing a feather swirl in there and liked that best. Something like this (even though this is a horrible drawing). Kind of makes it look like it goes with the middle block more. quiltmonkey
Like Heidi, I was thinking feathers, too but doing it in both the green and purple block. Kinda like this??
quiltmonkey
OK another thought (I hate it when feathers are too long they look like fingers or hot dogs!) So if the feathers are too long you can start a curl toard the larger part and curl around like Heidi did but use both blocks for the feather?? Neher-in-law5
I like the combining of the green and purple. To do them separate really breaks it into scraps of a quilt instead of a complete design. Together they make me think of the leaves of a flower. I would do the feathers similar to Shana's design. a very elegant simple look there, fits the elegance of the fabric.
NollR
I was just going through Kimmy Brunner's Whirly Twirly feather book and DVD and her one design would be good in here I think. Instead of doing a feather wreath in the middle and then treating the outer purple and green blocks separately, I would do the whole thing as a feather design. Break up the center blocks in 4 squares and then stitch a curve spine out towards the outer blocks and fill it with feathers. It will be like you have a feathered star! I wish I could draw it for you like the others, but I don't know how! Sorry if my explanation is confusing! Good luck!
