tsurich
I just finished my version of our local longarm guilds challenge. I tend to think traditional so this was fun for me. Now back to the customers.
PattyJo
Sue - Beautiful work. Is that ruler work? or freehand? You have done yourself proud and met the challenge I bet.
tsurich
Okay I think I got this one shrunk down. I usually do not change the bobbin thread as I don't like all the different threads on the back but thought I should do it to see what it would look like and so I can show clients what I mean by matching bobbin to top thread. tsurich
Now I have that first monster of a photo tamed to something you can see. PattyJo, Only the feathers are freehand, everything else used a guide of some sort.
SherryRogers
Hi Sue REALLY, really NICE! I LOVE your traditional designs! Could you do us a favor though and delete the larger photos? We have to scroll back and forth to read your message. Thanks for sharing your work with us and let us know when you get your blue ribbon!
PHerkamp
Great job! I really like the orange peel pattern for the background. Good luck at the quilt show. Pearl Herkamp
chickenscratch
I love the orange peel. Do you have CL or Hartley circle makers. My circles never come out round.
tsurich
Teresa, I don't have either, I have a plexi circle that I stitch around. Would love to have bigger toys but need to earn that yet. Sue
Bonnie
Sue, you are good....I really thought you had either the Hartley or the CL as well.....I only wish my circles are that perfect....I always seem to get a finger tip in there when I go around. Bekah
Sue, what a fantastic job. I also thought you had a Circle Lord or something like that. I still ahve trouble doin straight ruler work let along trying to go around a circle. I would probably stitch my finger to the quilt if I tried that:P You should be very proud!! Guest Linda S
Very nice Sue! The first time I looked, the pictures were so big, I couldn't really see. I like all the different motifs and you did a great job on executing them all. What a fun challenge to do. Linda

onesewise
Sue..so beautiful! Did you use any marking pencil before making the lines etc. for placement? If so what did you use? Elaine Also...what type batting did you use? Your quilting stands up so well!
quilterscafe
Sue, I love the colors you chose for this quilt and the simplicity of the design. The orange peel (wine glass?) motif and the feathered star are my all time favorites! I also really like the way you used matching and then contrasting thread. Your stitches look sooooooo perfect, and I am in awe at the degree of precision in your quilting! Kathy
tsurich
Well ya'll make me feel so good! It is nice to have feedback from someone who knows what it involves. Yes I make marks to position everything. And use the newer iron off chalk, although I have never had to use the iron yet and this was a lot on solid black. I can't take credit for the top as pattern and fabric was decdied upon by the challenge committee.
