Stitches
I have not used mettalic thread on the longarm to date, but I have a request to do so. Is there a brand that you prefer? She wants a heavier thread used so that it shows up well. Also, are there any hints in using this thread? Donna
newmillie2010
Love the Superior Metallic threads. Also the Floriani threads are good. SoFine or Bottom Line in the bobbin. Top tension is loose loose loose. Pull the metallic thread away from the needle. If it resists, loosen top tension some more. Keep adjusting until thread pulls without resistance. Then practice stitch until stitches are beautiful. Love love love the metallics!
LadyLake
There was just a thread on metallic, which you might find helpful, too: http://www.apqs.com/quiltboard/viewthread.php?tid=30004&page=1#pid384965
shirleyl
I use the Superior Metallic Threads with great success. Just loose tension as noted above and I used bottom line prewound bobbins in the bobbin. I've seen the other ones, just haven't bought any so I haven't used them yet.
