Designing you own pantographs?

Recommended Posts

I am in the process of releasing a handful of my own designs. I use Art & Stitch Pre-Design Studio 3 and love it. It doesn't run on the Mac so I had to partition my hard-drive and install parallels/windows 7 but other than that I'm happy with it.

Here is a video explaining how to design and print your own pantos

Pantographs are easy to design if you know the concept of tessellating shapes. An easy start is to make a series of same size diamonds , draw a single line design in it starting at one point and ending at the one across from it, then just connect. The next row is simply moved over till it fits inside. I know, clear as mud. Really the hard part is coming up with the right size paper!! Even though I know how and can design , I usually choose to buy designs I like, they are so much easier....My favorites are some of the older ones from Willow, and Urban E. My all time favorite is Popcorn
