Bonnie H
The lady who quilted this is donating it to her grandchild's school. She doesn't care what design is quilted. The backing will be black with white soccer balls and the front is a log cabin in a barn-raising setting. I don't really have a panto that I feel "fits" this quilt. I was thinking of using Circle Lords Swirls. Again. It just seems to go on everything I don't know what to do with. What do you think about the CL Swirls long board pattern on this??? My other thought was to use my Circle Lord and make largish circles all over and inside the circles quilt the lines of the soccer ball using a ruler. Not sure I'm up to putting that many hours in, but it might be fun. I need some help with ideas. Feathers are out. A panto or CL pattern would be best, for me. Thanks so much. Oh, and I've chosen cream Glide, top and bobbin. Hope it will be okay on black backing fabric. [/img] [/img]
KathG
I think the CL swirls would be okay for this quilt. It is a good standby when you don't know what to use, but always looks good.
Bonnie H
Kath, I'm going to call it good and use the Swirls. It's easy enough and it always seems to look good on most anything. Thanks for the positive vote for that choice.

Bonnie H
Kristina, this lady makes quilt tops and sells them on ebay. Maybe one of them was hers!
Bonnie H
Kristina, yep, I do believe it is her ... she lives in the town listed on the ebay auction. I guess it was nice of her to give me some work!
Sandra Darlington
Usually my standby for log cabin blocks is a Baptist Fan, but this is not exactly "traditional" since the fabric has soccer balls on it, so the Swirlz should be just fine. Primitive1
Me too, I think it will give it movement and that's what soccer is all about!
CWBowser
Judy Allen's "Which way did they go?" panto would work too if you ever watch an elementary school soccer game. You can get it at Golden Threads.
