gardenslug
Does anyone know if there is a company which has "Far Side" fabric? Have a grandson in college who requested a quilt and he requested that I find some "Far Side" fabric. As he knows absolutely zero about fabric and I have never seen any, has anyone heard of such an item? Marilyn
Beachside Quilter
No, but I would sure buy some! Far Side comics ended about 20 years ago . I have a couple to tees and laugh every time I put them on!
JustSewSimple
It used to be my go-2-first-read in the paper each day! I laughed every day!
ffq-lar
Googled it and the only Far Side fabric is "Far Side of the Moon"--a geek fabric. It's a multi-color abstract of a scan of the moon. This is an up-and-coming trend with the young'ens--geek fabric ordered from Spoonflower in Dr. Who designs, every video game in the world, Star Trek/Star Wars, Scooby Do, even My Little Pony and Hello Kitty. It's mostly retro designs in the modern colors and geo prints. Like two-color Enterprises or the flowers from the Scooby van. Do you feel out of the loop? These geek fabrics are popular--asked for by the twenty-to-thirties who either try their hand at sewing (guys and girls!) or buy the fabric and get mom to make them something. I'm pretty with-it for a geek my age!
gardenslug
Thanks, everyone. My son suggested that we get some Far Side comics and print our own. Don't know if this is legal, but as we are going to use it only for ourselves maybe it will be OK. Guess I should check on this. And yes, Linda,. I am definitely out of the loop. If we come up with anything interesting, I will try to post. (I am very limited when it comes to the computer.) Marilyn
LFQuilts
You could look for t-shirts with Far Side comics on them and use those to make a quilt . . . . Lynn
