b.glass
I'm sure I must have a burr or more but can't find them. I've checked the thread guides by pulling my top thread through pulling back and forth and nothing frays. When I feel the bobbin case and hook I can't feel anything. What to do? witha'K'quilting
is your thread just getting caught somewhere? or wrapped around a guide? you might double check the guide coming straight down form the hook. my thread used to jump out there and wreak havoc. it would get caught under the thin bit of the body case and snap my thread. zeke
Use your fingernail, not your skin. Also check to hole in the needle plate with thread. Zeke.
shirleyl
Or try a section of pantyhose. I cant even put them on without a run. Put it thru pigtails and run around the hook. It will find it. Shirley
DawnCavanaugh
Just curious, what symptoms are you having that make you think you have a burr? The most common issue caused by a burr is thread breakage or large top thread loops on the back of the quilt. Watch Amy's video on timing your machine. You don't need to time your machine, but as Amy reviews the process the video provides great tips on how to locate and eradicate pesky burrs caused by needle strikes or breaks. The thread guides, needle plate hole, hook assembly and hook retaining finger can all develop burrs from needle strikes (or can simply suffer wear from certain threads that run in the same place all the time.) Let us know how we can help!
