Ferret
I missed getting the quilt done for the show, but I have put up some better pictures of it on my blog. Always expanding what I do on the longarm, this one has the applique done on the frame. I really like it for the look I was after. I wanted to hint that the hinges are hammered metal, so a micro scribble to hold them on seemed the obvious option. Ferret
Sparkle
Your Door quilt is simply wonderful! What an innovative concept. I love doors---and gates too. Beautiful quilting! I'm looking forward to visiting your Blog again to see this quilt when you get the handles and binding/edge on. Thank you for sharing it with us. quiltmonkey
Awesome! It looks like something I'd walk through while inside an ancient gothic cathedral. Anno Domini- the year of our lord. Another fantastic piece, Ferret.

dancingstitcher
Great conceptual design Ferret. Love the ivy in relief and the Anno Domini... The heavy trapunto, overall stuffed nature of the architectural features look very interesting. That's quite a contrast to have no stitching on the columns. It would be very interesting to do carved figures on the door, if that wouldn't distort the overall shape of the door. Deadlines - do they help or hinder the creative process? Laura Farnham
Just Beautiful! Always an inspiration. Just love your "Outside of the Box" approach to quilting. Thank-you so much for sharing! Laura
Ferret
IHi Vivki, I like the idea of carving the doors, I don't think it would work well on this onw as the wadding is too thin, but it may well appear on another quilt.
