jimerickson
I just looked at Superior's new top tension gauge. Is it at all like the old one? I'm thinking the old one might help me with the problem I have. The new one won't. My problem isn't with my longarms, but rather with my 12 needle embroidery machine. Since the machine (a Happy BTW) has 12 needles and 12 tension assemblies, a gauge that must be dedicted to a single tension mechanism like Superior's new one won't help. I need one that can take measurements for each needle -needs to move from one to the next- Will the old gauge do that? Getting uniform tension for each needle tension mech by feel is a bit hit or miss. I appreciate your opinions. Thanks. Jim
Zora
I think the old style would work, since you hook the guide to a loop of thread after it passes through the needle. If you are interested in buying one of the old style gauges, my friend has one she would likely sell. Send me your email address and I will put you in contact with her. You can negotiate terms with her directly.
Peggy (SewAsylum)
Jim, I have a Happy 12 needle, too. Have you tried the tension gauge Texmac sells? It is very inexpensive and is made for the Happy.

micajah
The old style tension gauge is like the fishing line tension gauges you can get at walmart. And it's much cheaper there. Debbie
jimerickson
Thanks to everyone for your kind responses. I got to looking on the web, and found one made by Tajima just for multi-needle machines. I bought it for $20 and hope it will provide the info I need to properly adjust my machine. Thanks again.
