Quilt Pink Auctions - April 5th!!!

Recommended Posts

Remember back on Sept. 30 at many quilt shops across the

U.S. we had the "Quilt Pink Day" and made many blocks and

quilts? We had a big event up at the Mall of America too....

wish I could have went and seen all of those quilts hanging

everywhere! The photos are awesome!

Anyhow.... at first they said the actions would be in May 2007

then they said Feb 2007..... I still have not seen or heard

anything more on this..... I went to www.quiltpink.com and

it just shows the list of shops by state. No place to email

them, no info. on the actions. I heard that they were going to

be on ebay, but when?

This event was put on by Better Homes and Gardens

American Patchwork & Quilting. Does anyone have any more

info. on these auctions?

Nope - I looked again and that phone number is a 1-800 for Breast Cancer

Helpline / Awareness and such........ and the other website listed is for the

Susan G. Komen foundation.... the website just states that in the "Spring

of 2007" they will be auctioned online.

Judi,

I think this link will help you find the "Quilt Pink Day? quilts from Better Homes and Garden American Patchwork and Quilting.

The Auction starts April 5th on e-bay. I found this link through the web site of one of our local quilting shops that participated, here in Canada.

The link seems to work through electric needle web site?. Here we go! Follow the link to the ?eBay site ?at the top of the page. http://www.theelectricneedle.com/quiltpink.html

No Photos yet of the quilts - on that other site of sold ones from Oct.....

those photos are gone too..... I could not pull up any old auction info. That

must have been a different thingy though, not through Better Homes.

I saw many from Minnesota, should have been some from Mankato area

but I didn't see any listed. I know a few were made for this......

There is a long list of a schedule for 3 weeks of auctions. Each shop name,

city and state are on there. Says there are over 4,000 quilts to auction.....

that will be Many photos to look through! I know one shop from the cities

said that they "better get over $2,000" for their quilt. I really want to find

the auction and bid on that one!

Patty - I am glad we amuse you - I even laugh at myself!!! LOL!!:P Makes

life much more enjoyable - doesn't it?

If you go the links for the individual quilt shops you can usually see the quilts they did. This is time consuming. I am looking for a site that shows all the quilts together. This effort was an amazing contribution from the quilt community and it would be wonderful to see everyone?s contribution in one location. Perhaps eBay will post them when the auction gets closer.

Happy Quilting

I am sure that there are photos and auctions already printed up but since

the start date is later - they do not show yet. I am hoping that in each

auction - along with a photo - they will say what shop made it or where -

and also maybe who quilted it! I know I am asking for alot - but hey - thats

how they will get more money for them!
