ramona-quilter
I know that my birthday (the big one) isn't until September but I just had to show off these blocks. My first, the little heart, was from Norece. It is on point and such a sweet pattern and of course, meticulously pieced. I love it. Then I got this pink and green block from Carol Hillary. The background fabric has these tiny roses. Wouldn't I love to find about 6 yds of that for my background fabric. I have never seen this block pattern either. Then I received the block from Lisa Thiessen with florals and lots of rose, reds and a bit of an Asian flair to it. I have not see these fabrics before. I think that I might have to visit a quilt shop in Canada. And then I received this New Colony block from Jeanne Rumans. I love the vintage rose and deep, dark red. Jeanne told me that the block is from the Jamestown Block of the Month by Marti Mitchell. I just know that I am going to love the quilt that these go into. Thank you so much. quiltmonkey
I will definitely join the bd block exchange next time around. I couldn't do it this time because of my broken foot situation (I'm still working that long-term recovery!) Thanks for sharing your beautiful b-day blocks and giving recognition of those who piece them.
Judi
Linda - Very nice blocks! And how to you put the words on your photo?!? Great idea - just have not figured that out yet.... If you have time can you explain it for me? I followed your instructions and learned how to post my photos here, so I know you are very good at explaining things so that they can be understood and followed. Thank-you for that too! Shana - broken foot?!? You still have the other foot though - right? I know - it is tough to switch and do things differently. We get stuck in such ruts that it really does throw us for a loop if we have to try and do things in a different way - hope you are "up and running" soon! We would love to have you on our Birthday List!! Guess what I am going to do today - yes I am! Off to finish up those blocks I started so I can mail them!
