qwltnldy
Is it just me, or has anyone else had their bobbin tension either tighten or loosen by itself? I was happily quilting along, on a roll, making really nice shapes and all of a sudden I noticed that my top tension was looking way too tight. Now, mind you, I run my bobbins through the TOWA and generally I am around 20. Took out bobbin and checked again, TOWA was at 15. No reason. No change, bobbin just loosened up. Any suggestions? Georgene
It happened to me today. The bobbin tension got so tight the thread broke. When I removed the bobbin from the case, the little flat spring type thing came out too. So that must have been the problem, the flat spring got out of line or something. I couldn't get it back just right, so I switch to another bobbin case.
Stagecl
I think that the machine vibrates so much that things naturally have to loosen or tighten up. I know that I need to check the tension on my cases every now and then just to make sure they are right. Cheryl
Charlene
Hi Robin, I haven't had the tension change unless there was a problem with how the bobbin was wound. If I am not careful and pay attention to what I am doing when I wind a bobbin, I have had bobbins that weren't wound evenly. This would affect the tension.
