Berny
I'm getting my first bargello quilt to quilt. I know that my client doesn't like to spend a lot on her quilts. Any suggestions as to what I can do? Are there any allover patterns that would look good on it? Thanks Berny:)
sewingupastorm
Berny I suggest you look at the fabric and see if you can find some nice allover theme that would enhance that. Allover designs can work well on bargellos as well as running feathers or lines that follow the flow of the bargello.
fabric007
All the bargellos I have done, including my own, I have done with invisiable thread and followed all the seam lines, lots of work, but to me, it doesnt need anything extra or, in my oppion, it will mess up the finished product. CucumberQuilting
This was a bargello a frequent customer brought to me recently, she was very happy with the finished results. Depending on the fabric and the mood of the quilt, you could do something similiar with a large allover, filling in the background to make the design pop. Darlene Epp
Raindrops from Willow Leaf Studio (c. Lisa Calle) looks great on Bargello quilts, especially if the bands run vertically. http://www.willowleafstudio.com Do a search for Raindrops. I'm not sure if Jodi has her digitized site up and running yet or not, but you could give her a call and order the CQ version if it's not.
Stagecl
Deb's Swirls by Designs By Deb or Vickie's Swirls by Designs by Vickie are nice looking, easy to quilt and go with many different types of quilts. But not having seen the quilt it is really hard to say what would look nice. Cheryl
jmyhogan
BEAUTIFUL! I like the way the quilting design melds it all together.
