Michelle Miller
Hi, I have been diligently working on 16 graduation quilts and am getting "spent" on freehand ideas for guys. They are all friends, so I want them different. I have a Univ. of Kentucky basketball themed quilt in need of a masculine freehand design. I really don\'t want to have to freehand round basketball\'s. Any ideas???? THanks, Michelle

Sheri Butler
What about the letter U and K kind of connected, then whereever you can use large "tiger paws" mixed in with it. (For the Wildcats) Is that what they are????? EDIT: Or just "writing" the word Wildcats, then loop-de-loop a couple times, then write the word Wildcats again, loop-de-loop....ya get what I mean???? LOL And you can go different directions that way throughout the quilt!
BethDurand
Flames? I like those on guy quilts too. I just finished doing "Earth, Wind and Fire" from Darlene Epps books on another quy quilt. Good luck, Beth
ramona-quilter
I like Sheri\'s idea of using the UK. I think that I would create a stencil (or drawing on goldenthreads paper) with the UK logo (below) and then slap it down randomly and quilt those. Then I would put a free-mo cat-paw print traveling between the UKs. Or the same idea but instead of UK, make a basketball stencil.
Neher-in-law5
Are you able to "dribble" the basketball? That could move it along.
kellysuequilter
I quilted a UK quilt for Christmas, I used a panto though. the sports one from the Pattern Man.
victoriasews
If you just want freehand and not feminine you might just do something like this. It is just a meander only using straight lines with his name written in.
