lindasewsit
I have a question about whole cloths.....it might be a silly question, but I was wanting to do something small. Does a wholecloth have to be trapunto? I have been watching Sharon S youtubes today, and I am inspired to try something!!! Do you just mark them all or is it freehand? Thanks for your help!!! linda
hollyc
Karen McTavish has a great book out on whole cloth quilts.
Hollyrw
As far as I know, a whole cloth quilt is simply one that is one piece of fabric (not patchwork). I would think that freehand would be just fine. I have one in my head that is not symmetrical, although I will probably mark it because I'm not that good at just winging it yet. Ferret
Trapunto is optional. I would say play and see what happens Ferret
Quilting Heidi
No rules for wholecloth other than it has to be a single piece of fabric with no applique or any piecing. Have fun!
Neher-in-law5
When you use the term wholecloth, do you ever use multiple panels of the same fabric to make it big enough, or do you buy the wide back fabric to get the size you want? Ferret
Joins are allowed to make the cloth big enough, they must not create a design themselves though. However I much prefer using wide fabrics. Ferret
Neher-in-law5
thanks, I thought I had seen some with a center panel with two side seam panels. That is on my lists of want to dos.
