jmcclannan
I ordered the Sewline pencils that several people were raving about and used the green one to mark a wholecloth. I got a little nervous when I tried using the eraser and it didn't remove the marks. Then I read the directions again and tried a damp cloth. The marks were still there so I put the quilt in the washing machine to soak and the marks were still there. I washed it with some detergent and the **% marks are STILL THERE! Any ideas other than turning the wholecloth over so you can only see the back???
jmcclannan
Maybe I'm just an idiot since I realize I posted this in the wrong place. Is there a full moon or something?
meg_marsh
I tried the pencil on a practice piece - marks didn't come out - threw it away!!
Quilting Heidi
I just used the pencil on a whole cloth I'm doing and the marks came out in the wash. I don't know what to tell you to try. You say you tried rubbing then off with a damp cloth and washing it? How about using a fabric eraser? I'd probably try another detergent to see if that works. Maybe oxi-clean?
jmcclannan
Heidi, thanks for your ideas. I tried the eraser first and I put oxy-clean in with the detergent when nothing else worked. I guess I have learned a lesson to test the pencil on fabric first to make sure I can get it out. Quilting Heidi
Julie, Did you try cold water, warm water or yikes hot water? If you used cold water I would try using warm water. I found the link for the company so maybe you can email them and they can help. http://www.sewline.com.au/901.html

One of my pet peeves is merchandise that does NOT do as it claims!!! If you simply throw the pencils away they have made money off of you and tho you learned a lesson you PAID them!! Demand your money back!!! Don't let them get away with this!!! Contact them and tell them what you are expierencing, if they offer no sollution-get a refund!!

Quilting Heidi
Sewhappy yes I think you feel pretty strongly about it :P:P. Too funny. The only thing I could say is the package does say comes out of "most fabrics." I always run a test first just to be sure. I just used the white on a customer quilt and had no problem removing the marks. LOL I was in a bit of a panic even though I tested before I used it!
