iedquilts
I'm about to load MizzMillie's first customer quilt. I thought of echoing the applique, diagonal the print squares, cc the white ones. other suggestions?? something in the sashing ... but what in the border? your ideas please. i've had 3 days of charity quilts to learn the controls etc.... what a pleasure to use. i luv my new toy! thanks- Irene in BC
witha'K'quilting
You could crosshatch or beadboard the border...or do something feminine like freehand flowers or feathers. Please show us when you are done.
Quilting Heidi
I agree with Kristina. That white border is a perfect place to do some feathers. You could just do diagonal lines through the color and into the background. Just use your blocks as your guide.
Liam
How about in the applique' blocks you SID the applique' and stipple the back ground. As far as the border, maybe a floral design or feathers. Feathers always look good.
iedquilts
Heidi, do you mean diagonal into the applique background? if so, some of the onpoint blocks are 1/4 inch off. (sorry- i don't quite follow) Irene Originally posted by hmerrill .... You could just do diagonal lines through the color and into the background. Just use your blocks as your guide. witha'K'quilting
I am NOT Heidi so I could be wrong...but I think Heidi means to carry the diagonals from the outside colored blocks into the green border.

Quilting Heidi
You could do it either or. If the blocks are off up to 1/4" I wouldn't do that and just outline like Liam suggested and stipple or some other kind of background fill. Hollyrw
I agree with Kristina, Heidi and Liam. A nice wide white border like that shouts feathers to me. I love the inner border on the irish chain posted earlier. http://www.apqs.com/quiltboard/viewthread.php?tid=18912
