Mary Beth
I know, I like this one too, Carol.
Sandra Darlington
I do, too. Although I already have the "plain" Clam Shells, so will have to pass on this one...at least for a while.
Mary Beth
I bet Carol has it too....but she is getting this one now
lyonden
OK Fine!!! Yes, I do have the original clam, but got so desperate for the pampas on it that I drew it on my template. I tried to follow the lines but they were wiggely, so then I tried to put a small line in the template with my dremel tool. (look at the 2nd row up on the left) I don't know what these templates are made of but that wasn't working for me either. that line was even more wiggely. So, I'm posting a picture of my attempt to make my own template into the pampas clam. I better not hear all the laughing clear over here in Virginia.:mad: Anyway, my new template will be on the way in no time. Michael finally took pity on me. Mary Beth
Okay, most of the lines are pretty good. I've got a dremmel, I am bad.
Sandra Darlington
OK ladies, now I will have to brag...I just received my new Sunburst template. Nani-nani-boo-boo! Of course, I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I'll have to whip up a quick charity quilt - large blocks, and try it out. Hopefully this weekend, but my son is visiting from Los Alamos, so I am trying to spend time with him. Well, maybe next weekend I'll get to play. Guest Linda S
Just ONE? Horrors! That's like asking someone to eat just one Lay's Potato Chip! I have almost all of the templates from Circle Lord. I love them all. I do think the Aztec is probably the most versatile of the round templates, and the long boards make doing even a large quilt a snap. For the long ones, I'd say the Baptist Fan, as it has really fixed some really wonky quilts for me. I love them all!! Linda
Mary Beth
Sandra, no I have not tried it yet. I just got home from work at 6:30 pmish...then dinner, then clean up, then....petting my new templates.
Sandra Darlington
Mary Beth, isn't it fun to pet those new templates? Michael & Kay have really come up with great ideas and great products...and of course, their great customer service. I have to make time to play more with my templates. Mary Beth
Have you entered your quilts in the CL Challenge? Great prizes.
Sandra Darlington
Humm (head hanging down), not yet. I have to finish one that I was working on a while ago, then got side-tracked. When that is done, I'll post it. It is featuring the CL feather template. I think that is the one I use the most.
Mary Beth
Sandra, no head hanging down...you can post any quilt that you have used the CL templates on, in the past. Post 'em girl.
LinneaMarie
Well, I just about have my first round of CL templates and boards paid off; and now this new one??? YIKES!! I love the Sakura one too! I think my favorite is Aztec too. Well, maybe Ginkgo, or the small Ginkgo. Oh, heck, I can't pick just one either!!:P
Georgene
If I could only have one -- it would definitely be one of the long boards, but which one? Hmmmm. I'd say the Square Dance and/or Swirlz, but then again the Waves and Zig Zag is so versatile. And I really need the Baptist Fan for those traditional quilts, and of course the Clam Shells works for traditional too. Oh darn, then there's the Feathered Wreath. I'm sorry, I guess I can't choose just one.

gable428
I'm just about done with my CL challenge quilt. The cool thing about this challenge is that I have been using templates that I haven't used yet. I will be posting soon [as soon as I figure out how!]. Mary Beth
Gable, that is exactly what I was hoping for. I want to see some of the designs on quilts and you guys are not disappointing me....can't wain to see it. Oh, you can email me, Carol or Michael the pictures and we will make sure they are posted. gable428
Does Michael take requests? For instance, I think it would be neat to have a long board of some sort of cool feather design.
Mary Beth
Michael does take requests. Just call him and talk to him about it. If he can make it work, he will get 'er done.
Sandra Darlington
I have a board with feathers from Michael. It is for borders.
Mary Beth
Yes, Sandra, that is right, CL does have a feathered border. I thought that Gable was wanting the long boards, like Swirls, in a feather.
