jmcclannan
Hi, y'all. I am thinking it is about time to get together again. The AQS show in Des Moines is coming up in October. Is anyone going? Maybe we could plan a couple of days to include a trip to Iowa. It's not that far, you know.

jmcclannan
We could do an overnight here and then all drive to Des Moines together. We've redecorated and now have FOUR available bedrooms. Ok - I'll even cook!
Sheri Butler
Yes, I was planning on going, but not taking any classes. I just enjoy shopping & looking at the quilts.

Sheri Butler
Jewels....AND I LOVE IT!(that your retired!) Debbi: YES, most definitly! We WILL meet up this year! I may take you up on 1 room (if..and only "if" someone needs a room that will be coming farther than I will.) If so, I can easily drive to your place in the a.m. Also, I can take hubby's Explorer that fits 8. 2 rows of back seats!
Front Porch Quilting
So what day or days are you going. You still didn't say if you were staying overnight in Des Moines? Put me down for a room Julie. How far is it from your place? Sheri maybe I can stop at your place and we can go together or I can follow you in. jmcclannan
Sheri and Roxanne, I have rooms reserved for both of you and I still have two rooms available. We don't need to spend the night in Des Moines. It's about 2 hours from my house - an easy drive (especially if Sheri is driving!). Which days will work for you two? And who else is coming????? Front Porch Quilting
ewwwww Sheri are you going to take that?????? Hey guys then let me know when and I will be there!
Sheri Butler
My vote is to go either Thur or Fri. The earlier the better in my opinion. Fri & Sat it gets a tad packed, and I like shopping when it's not so crowded, but you all throw in your votes too! I'd be happy to go up to Jewels Wed. nite, and going up Thurs...but if we end up going fri, that's ok too! Yes, I will drive the Explorer! Roxanne, yes, why don't you just drive here, hop in with me..and we can go up to Jewels together..and then on our way back if it's late, you can stay here if you dont want to drive the other 2 hrs home. mswings
Hi Jewels, I may come up. I love getting together with the midwest quilters. I always learn something! Aren't you just happy as a lark since you have retired??? I usually work on Wed but I have not committed to that week yet. jmcclannan
Super - let's plan on my house Wednesday and Des Moines Thursday and if people are too tired to drive home Thursday you can crash at my house. Virginia, let me know if you plan on spending the night Wednesday and/or Thursday. I still have two rooms available.
Front Porch Quilting
Are we doing a "meeting" on Wednesday or just whenever? I know I know so many questions!

jmcclannan
Virginia, you now have a reservation. LeeAnn, one daytrip should be to Madison county to see the covered bridges and eat in the cafe where Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood ate. Oh, and don't forget to visit Fons and Porters shop across the square.
LeeAnn
OK, now we will have 2 places to go. Some of our group wanted to go to the Amana colonies. Hmmm.... I suppose we should leave time for the quilt show! LOL!
