blair8904
I seem to be doing OK with the help of some rulers and my Quiltazoid doing the main part of the quilt, but don't really have a good idea about what to do in the borders. Being fairly new at this, I'm not really confident enough to do them freehand. Suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks
DoryJM
You can do freehand; stipple, loopy meander, wavy lines to imitate cross-hatching. You CAN do it! Especially of the borders are busy; then you can practice and it doesn't really show. Take a deep breath and go for it!!
Guest Linda S
I'm a stencil gal. Mark that design on there and follow the line. I love it.
Quilting Heidi
Barbara, There are lots of border options. I try to use something that I used in the middle or give it a frame with piano keys, cross hatching or a feather. Wavy lines are good to.
meg
Piano key are the easiest for me - just a ruler and some chalk lines and your set to go. or if you have the qz crosshatching or beadboard template - you can use that! either way - its easy to sew and even deals with the wavy border issue. Sandra Darlington
I seem to fall into doing either feathers or bead-board/piano keys the most. I must get out of my rut.
Zora
If you have the Quiltazoid, you need to invest in the 1/4 " crosshatching template. That will allow you to do accurate beadboard and piano keys, and other border treatments using straight lines...crosshatching, radiating "sunburst" lines to name a couple.
