Continuous Templates

I love the swirling pattern that several people have used lately. How many of the continuous template board do you need? Enough to go the wideth of the quilt? Or do you move them?

I understand that some people will move their boards, while others buy enough to do a large quilt top so they don't have to move them.

I find it much easier and faster to have enough to cover the quilt.

I use the swirl tracing template that goes on my quiltazoid from the front and move the quiltazoid with each swirl. This makes larger size swirls.

how do you line up to move to do the next square? I have a CL from the front and need to figure out how to move straight across the quilt.

I think the Quiltazoid arm is a little different then the CL arm. Probably best you ask Michael. On the Quiltazoid arm it is positionable after rolling forward becasue the arm itself actually pivots on a 45 degree angle so that you can get it exactly where you want it. I'm not sure how the CL works but I think that arm is stationary and you roll the quilt sandwich but I could be wrong.

I buy 2 templates and leap frog them. I might reconsider that if I had a pattern that I used over and over.
