Laura Farnham
HELLO EVERYONE- JUST WANTED TO FINALLY SAY HELLO AND INTRODUCE MYSELF. (OKAY MYRNA, NO MORE LURKING FOR ME) THIS PAST MONTH HAS BEEN A BLURR. HEARD MYRNA WAS GOING TO BE IN TOWN (CO. SPRINGS) FOR SOME CLASSES. I TALKED TO MY HUSBAND (BOB) ABOUT TAKING A FEW OF HER BEGINNER CLASSES. WE DIDN'T HAVE A MACHINE BUT WANTED AS MUCH INFO AS POSSIBLE. (OKAY, I ADMIT, I'VE BEEN LURKING SILENT ON THIS SITE FOR OVER A YEAR. I'VE PROBABLY READ EVERY POST AND FEEL LIKE I KNOW ALL OF YOU. AND ALTHOUGH I HAVE SO MUCH TO LEARN, I HAVE GAINED SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE FROM READING ALL OF YOUR POSTS. THANK YOU ALL) ANYHOW- WE DECIDED TO GO FOR A GREEN MILLENIUM!!!! AFTER TALKING WITH MYRNA, BOB SAID "LETS JUST DO IT." WE PUT IN OUR ORDER 5 DAYS BEFORE THE CLASSES WERE SCHEDULED. AND OUR NEW ADDITION ARRIVED THE FOLLOWING THURSDAY. WE SET IT UP(AFTER BOB HAD TO MAKE A RUN TO ONE OF MYRNA'S CLASSES TO SEE IF HE WAS DOING IT RIGHT) THE NEXT DAY, MYRNA SURPRISED US AND STOPPED BY TO SEE HOW IT WAS GOING. WE LOADED SOME PRACTICE FABRIC AND WERE READY TO GO. WE WERE SO EXCITED. BUT WE HAD SOME OTHER OBLIGATIONS THAT DAY SO "PLAYING" HAD TO WAIT TIL LATER THAT DAY. JUST OUR LUCK, THAT NIGHT WE HAD A HUGE RAINSTORM. THUNDER AND LIGHTNING. ALL NIGHT LONG. AND GUESS WHAT WE FORGOT TO BUY? YOU GUESSED IT. A SURGE PROTECTOR. DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE. THAT WAS FRIDAY NIGHT. SATURDAY , WE WENT STRAIGHT TO THE STORE AND GOT ONE AND I'VE BEEN PLAYING EVER SINCE. I THINK I'M ADDDICTED. I CAN'T STOP!!! I DO DAYCARE DURING THE DAY AND I HAVE TWO WONDERFUL DAUGHTERS (KELLY AND MAKENNA BOTH AGE 6)THAT KEEP ME BUSY DURING THE DAY. BOB HAS TAKEN OVER THINGS AT NIGHT SO I CAN PLAY IN THE EVENING. (WHAT A GUY) SO I PLAY TILL ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT. IT'S BEEN A WEEK OF PRACTICING ON MUSLIN AND TOMARROW (TODAY?) (LACK OF SLEEP) I'M GONNA PUT MY FIRST QUILT ON. I'M SO EXCITED. KINDA LIKE THE LITTLE KID ON THE DISNEY COMMERCIAL. I MET SOME AMAZING WOMEN AT THE CLASSES HERE IN COLORADO SPRINGS. I LOOK FORWARD TO PURSUEING THIS ADVENTURE WITH YOU ALL. OF COURSE , MYRNA, YOU ROCK! I ENJOYED TAKING YOUR CLASSES . LOOK FORWARD TO HOSTING SOME CLASSES AS SOON AS I GET UP AND RUNNING. OH, I FORGOT, I WAS SO EXCITED I DIDN'T TELL YOU- I'M LAURA FARNHAM AND I LIVE IN COLORADO SPRINGS. I'LL BE "CHATTING" WITH YOU ALL REAL SOON. chickenscratch
Hi Laura, I'm already envious of your quilting studio. I can't wait to see pictures. My machine is crammed into a 13"x9" spare bedroom. I long for more space. Maybe someday.

quiltaholi_518
Welcome Laura! And remember when you are having a rough time of it, as you no doubt will at some point, just remember quilting on a longarm is the most fun you can have with your clothes on, lol! Bonnie
I always thought it was more compared to my last piece of chewy carmel Gadiva chocolate and no one was home and I didn't have to share..... Which can be either eaten with or without clothes...those are optional.

PattyJo
Welcome Laura - Glad to see that you have now come to the party with the rest of us. And this is like a coffee club where we talk about just about anything. Oh and OK - You all are invited to my house for coffee so that we can all laugh together. What a HOOT you all are. And my preference is See's candy with clothes on as the cat jumps up in my lap while I savor them!!!
