peglu
Monika, I did use a layer of Hobbs 80/20 on this one and it not too stiff. If I were going to do more quilting though, I would go with something even a little lighter. DO NOT try to do it without a battiing of some sort. I tried it with a minkie backing and flannel backed satin. A real mess. I started over from scratch. Lynn- My mom did finish my Seaside Rose double wedding ring. It is absolutely beautiful! But, I'm terrified to put it on the frame and quilt it. I promised myself that it will go on right after Christmas. Thanks for closure suggestions all. I'm thinking that snaps would be good. I did get some really cool buttons for it, but I think I will make them decorative over the snaps.

One more question please and thanks, how did you finish the inside seams? Serger? or french...

peglu
Monika, the inside seams are covered with binding. I sewed it on the same time as I sewed the seam, then trimmed down the seam, folded the edge of the binding over the seam, then hand stitched it down. Didn't take as much time as I thought it would. LinneaMarie
.....with some velcro. Not sure, but I think Velcro might snag the satin. Maybe? Yes? Heck, sometimes my ragged fingers snag it!

Sandra Darlington
Oh, Linnea, I was just being silly, adding the velcro to the ribbons and snaps and buttons, etc. It seemed funny after I had a glass (or two) of wine last night.
