Stitches
I have a customer that wants metallic thread used in her quilt. She wants it to show, not just glisten. I have not used this thread before. Any suggestions as to what thread to choose and hints in using it would be appreciated. Donna

lisae
Hi, Donna, I have had very good luck with Superior metallics and also with Glisten from Fil-Tec. I use Magna-Glide bobbins. Good luck!
newmillie2010
be sure to test that metallic tension before working on the quilt. I put Superior metallic in a quilt last month ... used the variegated silver and it was spectacular! follow all the advice about loosening up the tension. I used SoFine in the bobbin. LadyLake
If you set your stitch length longer, the metallic shine will show better. I also use Superior Threads, but also use Floriana metallic. I have the top tension very loose, and go slow, especially when you change directions. I use Bottom Line in the bobbin. victoriasews
YLI is also a very nice metallic, very smooth, not nubby. I use it in top and bottom and get a beautiful stitch that way.
