sonjao
I am in the process of making my niece a quilt for her new baby. They live in LA proper. Do you have any suggestions as to what kind of batting I should use?doyle_odell@msn.com

LisaC
Believe it or not Wool is great all year! You may not want to spend the money for a baby quilt that will be more than loved! I also like Hobbs 80/20. I have not used Bamboo yet; I need to try some.
Georgene
I agree about the wool. I used Quilter's Dream Wool in a quilt I made for a couple in Florida. The use it all year. It's cool in the summer and warm in the winter. And it's soft and fluffy. And the QD Wool can be washed and dryed as long as you don't use HOT settings. Neher-in-law5
I used dream wool for the grandson's quilt for southern CA. If your alternate fiber is mixed with cotton, my opinion is that it is heavy and wouldn't be as nice as the dream wool or some of the polys in flexibility. Judi
I have done a "summer quilt" for one of my customers grandsons. It was just a soft flannel backing and a pretty Batik top - no batting at all - worked up better than I thought it would. Just another option...
