JustSewSimple
I bought this small linen piece and traced the xstitch on the corners and stitched it in the center. Then I drew out some lines and started stitching. However, now I don't know what to do. Should I stitch heavily around the flower or leave it alone. Then, do I stitch heavily all around the outside of the cross hatching or just make some tiny feathers all a over the outside? I am using bone on white and the reason it looks kinda dark is because it is wet.
Della
I think I would stitch heavily behind the flower as well as the feathers...but I am no expert!
Littleshoes
I would change the thread to something that matched and then do a mini stipple or echo around the flowers. Carol
Quilting Heidi
I like Carol's idea. You could do pebbles, shells or just a stipple but match the thread to the background so the flowers still really pop.
Mrs.A
I like Carol's idea about the matching thread too. I would echo all the way out...you want to have curvy lines alongside the straight line crosshatching. Pretty piece! Nancy in Tucson
ffq-lar
Stipple or echo in thread to match the background--that's my vote! It's soooo pretty and I can't wait to see what other magic you perform!
witha'K'quilting
Me third...or us it fourth? Stipple behind the flowers in matching thread.
Guest Linda S
That's really pretty! I also agree that if you're going to do more quilting, it should be with a white thread.
JustSewSimple
Was the bone thread a mistake in the center crosshatching? I am not about to take it out but I was just wondering. I am going to do sorta what Linda R did (but not with her skill) around the outside of the cross hatching with the feathers and the McSwirls.
