RoseCity Quilter
I like how the colourful parts are puffing up, with the dense quilting in the background (grey and white spots), but am wondering if there is too much to leave I those colourful parts unquilted? In other words will it lay flat? Camera Roll-431 by RoseCity Quilter, on Flickr Camera Roll-430 by RoseCity Quilter, on Flickr
LadyLake
What about quilting the center patch of the colorful spikes? It does seem like it needs at least that.
RoseCity Quilter
Yes, I was planning to do that, I should have specified more, also planning to quilt the lighter teal inside the darker teal, clear as mud right?!
RoseCity Quilter
It was mainly the colourful "feathers" that I was wondering about....
witha'K'quilting
did you SID the "feathers" you are referring to?
RoseCity Quilter
Yes I did SID the "feathers".... Pattern is by Judy Niemeyer, she refers to them as feathers....
Quilting Heidi
I think that if you do the inside of the feathers you'll be fine with just the SID.
witha'K'quilting
I agree with heidi. Some accent quilting inside the SID'ed feathers should be enough.
cmkeindl1
I certainly don't have any expertise, but if you like the colored "feathers" popping, why not quilt the black/gray backgrounds down and leave the colored ones with just SID? I may not be understanding - but Ardele, you do amazing things so I'm sure you will make it beautiful!
cmkeindl1
Oh, I'm getting it - you mean just the center "spine" of each section of colored "feathers" - that would be great!
