jandcembroidery
I had originally posted this picture as a Christmas quilt, but that was before I knew how to "Flickr" or had an account. Thanks to the mobile app I'm able to add the rest of the story. A co-worker of mine had asked me to make a Christmas quilt for someone she knows. It was to memorialize her friends mother who had passed away. I made the center five stars from some of the moms favorite outfits. In addition, the corner blocks were fussy cut angels with sequin wings (also one of her sweaters). For the label, I was given a piece of clothing that had embroidered Christmas angels that had originally represented each daughter. Heritage Keepsakes
It looks fantastic. I'm sure your co-worker and her friend were thrilled when they saw it. What a lovely quilt for the family to remember their mother by, and also to be part of themselves.

Beachside Quilter
Vickie - I used Whistlepig Creek Productions "Rolling Stars". Thank you! The quilt is lovely, and I agree with everyone's comments. You made wonderful use of colors in this clothing and the effect is very subtle and sophisticated looking, rather than "old clothing". Well done!
