Sheagatzi
I have had a few clients ask me if I am shutting down for summer? Is that the norm? I've told them that I will slow down for summer...taking 'emergency' quilts (illness, etc) and taking more days off to enjoy the weather - finally it's warmed up!! What do you do? Primitive1
I usually tell them I slow down for December, I need all christmas quilts prior to November so I can enjoy my holidays....
Tamarack
Yes I take July and August off as our summers are so short I would hate to miss it! I do take a few quilts from the guild and do them at my leisure over the summer and just work on my own quilts if I feel like quilting.
LindaSteller
I keep chugging along through the summer. Mine's stacking up to be very busy!
Merryjo2003
I'm as busy as ever in the summer. I have some customers who are teachers and summer is there time to be able to sew. In addition, I'm 2nd of command in starting a Quilt Trail in our area and run the annual Heritage Quilt Show. All this, and I have 4 designers to keep up with and my regular plus new customers. My slowest part of the year is about 2 weeks during the Christmas holidays. It's always a huge push to get everyone's quilts done for Christmas, then there's a lull. I think we all have to recover! That's when I break out the black Kona, some wild threads and just see what happens. It's my time to get back to creativity!
