RitaR
I am trying to get together the fabrics for a special quilt for our bed. We aren't sure if we'd want to use it year around or have 2 or 3 quilts to go thru the year. Is there One batting that would be warm for the winter, and yet cooler for the summer? We now keep the house about 5 degrees cooler at night in summer, and lower in cool weather.. I'm lost with all the batts and brands. Your preference? Thanks, Rita
Neher-in-law5
I used Quilter's Dream wool for our bed, it was the only quilt used this winter (a much weirder, colder season this year) and still have it on the bed now, Used it again last night. It quilted great, is light weight to be under or to move. I'm in MN.
delld
I've been using wool as well. Very light weight and doesn't hold a fold line. It keeps you warm in the winter and breaths so you are cool in the summer. Strange but true!
ffq-lar
Ditto! Tuscany wool by Hobbs is great, but I have Quilter's Dream wool in the present quilt on the frame and it has a rough-ish side and the other has a nice flat finish on it. I put that side next to the backer and it's quilting beautifully!
Quilting Heidi
QD wool is my all time favorite! Perfect in NC summer and winter.
CrazyAboutQuilting
QD wool is my favorite too! It's the only brand of wool that I use and I just love it. The current quilt on our bed has QD wool in it and it works great in MN both winter and summer.
Anniquilter
QD Wool every time! Lovely to quilt; warm in winter and cool in summer; washes beautifully; doesn't hold a crease.
Chocoholic
Another vote for QD wool. I love it, winter and summer, and now most of my customers love it as well. I am almost at the point where I can get rid of some of the rolls of batting in my studio and free up some room as they never get used. ;-)
