chickenscratch
Does anybody have any suggestions? I figure I can stipple or McTavish behind the pumpkins, and maybe echo the squirrel. I was planning to use that blue jean gold thread on the blocks, unless somebody has a better suggestion.
JenniferBernard
You could also do a leaf background design behind the pumpkin and the squirrel. Then throw on some leaves on some of the other shapes. I love leaves because they can be all shapes and sizes!
Enchanted Quilting
I would echo both the pumpkin block and the squirrel transioning into a leafy meander. Leaves as a filler in the other blocks would be great (as Jennifer suggested). I would also do a leafy border/sashing. The color you suggested sounds perfect for this autumn piece. BethDurand
I'd use Glide "Military Gold" for the thread. Great gold color, little bit of a sheen.
chickenscratch
https://www.flickr.com/photos/jtconcessions/sets/72157648304082446/ I'm not sure how well you can see the quilting. I used matching threads on the top. I didn't want the quilting to be the thing you saw when you looked at this. I wanted the blocks to show off. I am going to hang it in our living room after I put the binding on.

chickenscratch
I hardly ever have time to work on things for me. I am going to spend this week off working on finishing up UFO's, after I get two customer quilts done.
