jandcembroidery
Keeping in mind that I have never done custom quilting and I'm not very creative, what would look good for these type of blocks? I had thought about doing something with circles and I would consider it a X's & O's thing. It's for my granddaughter so it doesn't have to be elaborate. Quilting Grammy
I would CC the small 4 patches and some sort of curvie x in the large blocks and maybe a ribbon in the grey strips.
T Row Studio
I could see straight lines through the small squares om the diagonal and a large circle that goes throught the large squares in the four patches if that makes any sence hence a circle with an x through it
T Row Studio
I am not sure if this will show up but I will try
Liam
James, this would be a great quilt to practice some custom quilting on. Nothing fancy, just some simple designs like cc, straight lines and some curves. You could even practice some stitch in the ditch in the small 4 patches. I'm sure others here can give you some great ideas or you could even use google to get some ideas. Just have fun with it!!!
Quilting Heidi
I would do some version of Terry's 2nd picture. Great quilt to practice on a technique you might be wanting to try out. Curved Cross hatching could be worked in as well. When I get a quilt like this I try to come up with something I've been wanting to practice. chickenscratch
I think spirals or concentric circles would look cool on this square and linear block

LibbyG
I like all the ideas. However, I agree with Heidi. What would you like to try on a quilt? That's what I would do, use it as a practice piece for some techniques.
