gkazee
How should I quilt this one? I bounce back and forth between a panto and quilting the blocks with a block design with something different in the sashings and border. The border is narrow. LeeAnn
I like the idea of doing something in the blocks and then something different in the sashings. If you can do cc freehand, the blocks would go relatively fast. I like this quilt and want to see what you do with it!
LisaC
A stencil also might be nice on each block; you could mix some up so you don't get bored doing the same design over and over; then do something in the sashings and border.
gkazee
I have a computerized system so doing each block wouldn't be much trouble but picking a design that would look good on those blocks is.......at least for me.
LisaC
I think your quilt blocks are so busy it wouldn't matter what you put in them; I envision something with beautiful curves in a square design so the corners of each block are quilted. I just saw a magazine with a similar heavy pieced block that had a round stencil in it and in my humble opinion; it appeared the corners puffed up and I didn't like how that looked. Your computerized system will make this slick! YAY!
chickenscratch
What about a simple eight point flower made of arcs? I drew out a picture, but I can't post it. I can email it to you if you want. In the sashing you could put leaves and vines.
gkazee
That would be great chickenscratch! A picture would help me envision how it would look. My email is geraldinekaze@gmail.com. It's my sisters quilt so I can put anything I want on it so thought I'd use it to practice some custom work.

pumpkinpatchquilter
I also love Chickenscratch/Teresa's idea! Or you could even use a stencil design...
Cagey
Put the same same design in the sashing. Then go to Leah Day's page on YouTube, and put a different design is every block. Start looking at beginner and work your way through to advanced picking the design(s) that fit your likes and comfort zone. You will get a lot of practice free handing different designs doing it this way. Let us see the quilt when it is done. Cagey
gkazee
After much thought I finally counted the blocks. There were 63 of them. I decided I didn't need to practice custom quilting after all
