Quilta93
I would like to take a longarm quilting class at MQX, but the ones that are available on the days that I can go that I'm interested in, say confident beginner. How confident do you have to be? I've quilted on some thrift store sheets and I've quilted a few lap quilts. I'm looking at Krista Withers Compositional quilting class. What are your thoughts? Deb. Cagey
You only have to be "confident" enough to signup for, and "confident" enough to sit down and listen to the instructor. If you are "confident" enough to do those two things, you will do perfectly fine in any class you wish to take. Just have fun, and learn as much as you can. Corey
True, true, as long as you know how to operate your longarm machine, you will be fine. Have fun and take notes then practice what you've learned as soon as you can when you go home. That's what I did when I was a newbie.
Gator
My view of confident is that you're not afraid of the machine. I see a lot of students stand back and watch others quilt because they are afraid of the machine or other students thoughts. Quilters are great, I've never seen another long arm student/quilter make fun of others quilting.
judyday
I say take as many classes as you can. In this context I believe "confident" means willing to learn and having done at least some quilting. Just Cowgirl Up and doing it.

Cagey
Do not wait too long deciding, or they will all be filled. Best of luck to you. Cagey
