LindaFritchen
Help! Please, could someone tell me how to replace the velcro on the brake assembly. All I have is a lot of sticky on the backing roller and one piece of the 'soft' part of velcro on the upper clamp with the handle. I've got the GooGone out and new industrial strength velcro. Where and what type piece of velcro goes back on when all the mess is cleaned off? Thanks so much for your help here, AGAIN!
Mary Beth
Linda, look down at the brake pad issues topic and see if that helps you. I know some people were conversing about this not too long ago. Sorry I can't help more than that. Good luck.
SherryRogers
Hi Linda I too had to replace the velcro a few times but finally gave up on that combination. I now use the rubbermade shelf liner and am much happier with the results. I used a stapler to attach it to the block. Hope this helps.
CucumberQuilting
Hi, I did the same as Sherry and use the rubber no-slip stuff for carpets or shelf lining. But I didn't think about stapling it, I just taped it together with clear Scotch tape. Works fine and is easy to replace as you need to. Cheap too. Back to work! ~~ Eva
dtreusch
Hi Linda. I used a staple gun to attach mine after it gummed up the first time. I haven't had a problem since. Debbi

Laurie
Great responses! When I posted this question a while back, I didn't get these answers. I'll try the shelf liner/staple gun solution tomorrow.....
meg_marsh
My velco for the brake is a goner. Have tried to work with it a few times and it is a bust.......... I like the idea of the shelf liner stuff - what weight should I use. I know there are various products on the market. Should I make sure to get the rubber maid brand........ thanks - plan to get to the store 1st thing in the morning so I can get going again!! SherryRogers
Hi Meg Any grippy stuff will work fine. There is a thin and a thicker product that has little holes. That's the one I use. I haven't had to replace it since I fixed what didn't work. Hope this helps.
meg_marsh
Sherry - did you use the thicker or thinner - I would tend to think that the thicker would be better - thanks for responding so quickly - that great little art piece you posted recently (love it!!!!) - are you quilting it or did you just create another fabulous piece of art? SherryRogers
I guess I wasn't very clear... Sorry. I used the thicker of the 2. Glad you liked my little grafitti piece. I did have some prints made and I do plan on quilting the original. There's something to be said about subscribing to topics. I love the email alerts that notify you of a responce. meg_marsh
Sherry - you ought to sell the prints - they are so wonderful - actually one would be great in my CA home - perfect colors and just the right amount of wildness........... I wish I had your artistic abilities - I learned long ago that I am a better technician. I just love seeing what you will come up with next......... Have a good night and again thanks....... off to the store in the am.
SherryRogers
Hi Meg Thanks for the vote of confidance! My daughters fought over this piece so I had copies printed off the original before quilting. I had them framed and now they will each get a copy! I found these 12X12" frames on clearance at Joann's so the costs were pretty affordable. After I get the original quilted I will use that 50% off coupon I get from Joann every week and have it custom framed. If you truly are interested in having a copy of the print, I will get them up on my website for sale.

Sandra Darlington
My brake tends to slip and I realize that I don't have the velcro that everyone's talking about. No wonder I have slippage! I guess I will try the rubbermaid type of grippy stuff and see what happens.
