Judi
Not really a goodie or gadget - but I needed to have some way to support this backing. I only have the 12' table, have been able to do upto 120" quilts with no problems..... the zippers are 126" long. These are leaders were made and replaced a while ago - with the help of the machines former owner. This quilt is 123" square - yes - a biggie!!! So of course the back is even bigger. I am doing this for a very nice sweet lady who happens to have the same first name as my Grandma did - so - yes - I will do anything for her - wishing it was my very own Grandma I was helping out!! I miss her with all of my heart - especially today..... been a bad day... tears are falling... anyhow - back to subject at hand - wanted to show you all how I solved my problem. (trying to get my mind off of something else...):(:( I just taped a piece of muslin to the roller and pinned - it really did help and I am able to quilt away - almost 1/2 done with this baby! Bekah
great job. I am sorry about your gram. Mine has been gone for over twenty years and I still miss her terribly. she instilled in me the love of sewing. I keep wondering what she would have thought about our "fancy machines". nora123
I did almost the same thing only with my backing and some muslin. There is less clearance on the left side of my millennium than the right. This made it possible to get all the way to the edge. Nora Washougal Washington
lizziesgirl
Judi, How cool and thank you for sharing. I probably would of said I couldn't do it and now I can. I named my machine after my Mamaw(Grandma). I quilt with the amazing and incredible Ms. Lizzie. I have her thimble on the laser thingy:D in the front and I know that her and her twin sister, who always quilted, would have thought this was the way to go.
