ffq-lar
No pressure girlfriend about the DVD---I just have to share your "Butt-savin\'-make me look like a pro-sure I can quilt that out-can you say silk purse" Starch and Steam Method! (Please, no comments about the creative piecing and the waves--this lady is a hoot and I envision her stitching like a whirlwind and throwing fabric all around as she applies borders with a big Ka-Chunk! She thinks I am a miracle worker when it is just great advice from all my friends here that makes me look that way!) Notice the nice flat square in the center surrounded by ripples and waves--very friendly!
ffq-lar
The pic doesn\'t do it justice!! Here it is after the BFSSM treatment. Unfortunately, the top is 90x108 and "interesting" all over! Thanks Bonnie!!!!
Laurie
So the BFSSM treatment is done before the quilt is on the frame? Can it be done while the quilt is on the frame? BTW - good job, Linda!!!!!
quiltmonkey
Yes, I did mine when the quilt was on the frame!! I held a towel underneath, and pressed , starched & seamed the dickens out of the top all at the frame.
Merryjo2003
I always do it when the quilt is on the frame. I use my Euro Steam iron which shoots the steam under pressure. Love that iron. It\'s heavy, but worth it. I also have one of those steam mops and it came with an attachment for hand held steaming too. I used it until I got my new iron. It worked better than my Rowenta steam iron. It was a lot lighter, too!
Bonnie
Laurie....this can be done either on the ironing board or if you get into trouble while on the quilt frame....just remember to use a towel so that you don\'t burn your hand.

pfrost
That\'s quite an interesting top. I\'d sure like to see the finished results when you get it quilted! Thanks for sharing that technique for making it "not so friendly".
