lyonden
My customer is out of town for a while and she wants this really special. Does anyone know the name of this pattern so I can look it up on webshots for ideas?? Thanks for any help.
Mary Beth
It looks like an Irish Chain. But, who am I to say
dnice
Carol, I do not know the name but it appears that someone used this as an applique sampler. I would most likely do vines, leaves and small flower in the center of the pieced blocks. I am would probably do a tight meandering in the applique blocks. The border I would possibly do a cross hatch in.
Sheri Butler
Carol, I dont know either, but I do think MB could be right on the Irish Chain version. I would diagonal cross hatch those pieced blocks, then do a background fill (mct, or meandering) in the applique'd blocks. If i'm seeing it right, and the outer border is white with that basket of flowers in the center of the border, what about feathering that??? the whole border i mean. WendyJ
I would also say Irish Chain. WendyJ
PATST
Don't know the name but some dear lady put so much work and love into it! Quilting truly is 'art', isn't it? Patsy in NE
lyonden
I did find the name: it's "A Thirties Treasure" by Ramona Sturtevant but can't find any quilting pictures. I do have some ideas but always like to see what I can see. Thanks

lyonden
Thanks Carmen but I really couldn't tell or see much from that picture. Guess I'll have to wing it.
Mrs.A
I know that chain pattern as Uneven Nine Patch...I use it all the time with fussy cut blocks in the open spaces instead of those pretty applique blocks. Nancy in Tucson
