witha'K'quilting
What do you use to mail pantographs in? I am thinking shipping tubes...but they are so expensive. Any other thoughts?
ffq-lar
Hi Kristina, Do you have the cardboard center from a roll of batting? I save mine to cut down--you can even ship a smaller quilt in these.
yankiequilter
I purchased some from another forum member and they were shipped to me in a USPS box. They have free priority mail boxes available, if that will work for your situation.
witha'K'quilting
Thanks all. I am looking at shipping a single panto. I have this one figured out I think...just looking for options.
quiltmonkey
You could recycle... For shipping drawings (I work with a bunch of engineers) sometimes I have used the end rolls from plotter paper. They are long. You can take a hack saw and cut it down to size. Stop by your local office supply or business and ask them if they have any ends from the plotter paper rolls. Same goes with the ends of wrapping paper rolls and those types of things... Daisy2018
Dear K: I had a supplier who shipped one panto, (back ordered) in a triangular USPS box, It came completely flattened, Sturdy mailing tube sounds better!!!
mrsbishwit
Kristina, Willow Leaf Studios ships theirs in a padded legal sz (or larger depending on the sz of your panto) envelope. You can buy a single envelope at your local UPS store or even at the post office.
lizziesgirl
I just got some pantos in the other day and they were in a priority box from the post office. The box is a long triangle and postage was $8.30, if that helps.
njquiltergirl
Careful with shipping pantos. I purchased some and the seller ... a very nice quilter ... rolled them in one big roll. (Imagine a big roll of paper towels.) She sent them in a USPO mailing triangle. Although she meant her very best, they arrived crushed on each end. The weight was just too much. All the pantos shifted to the tube's end and crushed down upon itself. They were a huge mess. I had to iron most of them flat and noticed the designs were damaged to some extent due to the crumpling. I'd suggest keeping each rolled seperately, placed in a cardboard box and lightly fill with crumpled batting, bubble wrap, bubbles or paper. These things happen...
