Busy Quilting
Bobbi, Thank you for bringing this back up again. I have just finished quilting piece 4. So that is now 15.5 metres quilted. 21743 hexagons 1397 rosettes 33 bobbins 22 hours 20.3 kilograms I'm keeping the stats too. Only 20 more 5.5 metres long sections to go. Busy Quilting
Once it is finished it will be shown At Gatton, in QLD where it will be judged by the Guinness Book of Records. It will also be shown at the Queensland Quilt Show in October 2010. Transporting a quilt that will be over 120kilograms (250+pounds) will be very difficult. Then we will cut it up into smaller (240 of them) lap quilts and distribute them to the local nursing homes in the Lockyer Valley. It is the local girls that are piecing all the inndividual heaxagons into rows then sections for me to quilt. Lyn
Busy Quilting
We took this 15metre quilt to the corner of the street, to check its progress against the shop. The finished quilt will reach to the next intersection. It is now squashed in my boot(trunk) waiting for a trip to Brisbane tomorrow to show the Queensland Quilters the progress.
