CJQ
I got about 2 inches of a border caught in my rear carriage wheels which left a black mark. Any suggestions of the best remover for this?
LinneaMarie
Try alcohol. Worked for me. Or Magic Eraser. That works good too!
lindasewsit
Or maybe a little oxyclean /water paste.... ?
CJQ
Thanks Linnea, I tried the alcohol but it didn't work. I don't have a magic eraser.
Kueser
I've used Woolite and a soft cloth. You have to be careful that you don't rub too hard or you could loose some of the color- if that's applicable. Slow and steady.
ffq-lar
Least invasive method first of course. Then try-- Sew Clean--available on-line. I think this will do the trick for you. Grandma's Spot Remover--local fabric shops and on-line. A Carbona product--since the black is oxidation from the wheels, try the one for removing ink and crayon. Available at grocery and drug stores. Good luck and let us know what worked.
LinneaMarie
I know this sounds funny, but try ammonia. It takes the grease out of DH's work clothes like magic! Stinks, but works. Careful, it might lighten the fabric. I also use GO-JO hand cleaner. It is made for grease.
Quilting Heidi
I'd try some Dawn. It is a great grease cutter and should get the spot out. I'd use a q-tip to work it in or a soft rag.
Joyce
I just did the same thing, I recently found a product called Mary Ellen's stain remover and it took the black marks right off and was very easy to use. I did find this at a quilt shop, but maybe Joanns might cary it.
bobbi
Ok, seems like you got some good advice, but how on earth did the border get caught in the wheel? I sure hope it works out ok!!
